I had the pleasure of featuring Boston best men’s shops in The Man Issue of The Improper Bostonian.
The looks were inspired by Classic British Gentlemen. The styles range from Smart Casual to Elegant Formal.
My objectives were to show by assembling affordable and high-end pieces that style is not a price tag or a label, and to create the most effortlessly stylish and inspiring looks.
Click this photo and enjoy styles that will perform, have utility, are functional, and powered by the following Boston men’s retailers:

Last month we hosted #BOSMen12 at InterContinental Boston. Our goal for the best men’s fashion celebration for Boston was achieved with the support of Boston fashion community. The event drew near 300 people, which resulted to over 30,000 impressions on Twitter and Instagram, and 15 editorials. Check out photos and videos at DressCode Boston on Facebook. The audience was engaged and the best Spring/Summer men’s style were curated through DressCode Boston’s produced short-films, a live fashion shows, social media platforms, and a print look book. #BOSMen12 featured:

Any Given Day: Boston by Jeff Lahens at The Tent at Boston Fashion Week 2011 featuring
Drinkwater’s Cambridge – A key resource for appropriate casual dressing for the mature gentleman and men who are looking to bring back the business in Business Casual.
Ball and Buck - A hunting-inspired ‘Made in the USA’ clothing brand. To the question many men ask: Style or substance? “If you were to pack your ‘last suitcase’ we would want everything in it to come from B&B—what would you want in it, style or substance?” – Mark Bollman, Founder.
Uniform Boston - “it’s all about u.” A men’s store for contemporary lifestyle clothing…or for effortless stylish looks.
Bobby from Boston - No1 Greatest Men’s Store in America by Esquire Magazine in 2011 “because he [Bobby] does it better than anyone else.”
JL Men’s - Jeff Lahens’ new collection of versatile vintage-inspired sportwear for upscale and smart dressing…designed to elevate a man’s style while remaining true to self.
Randolph Engineering - Fun, Confident, Smart, and Classic eyewear made in Randolph, MA. US Military and Air Forces approved sunglasses.

Special thanks:
How can you remain “in the code” when the weather condition is set on wet? I give props to any guy who can walk as confidently as Super Fly…while wearing soggy socks.
This year I got me a pair of Tretorn’s rubber boots. I B-boy stand like Run D.M.C. in the rain, SON!

The weather is dry and the dress code is Preppy. You are not particular impressed by everyone who’s looking cool and stylishly comfortable with this spring collections of nautical shoes. I get it. You’re not a boat shoes type dude. To be honest I’m not either. Nonetheless, I remain “in the code” with these stunningly versatile and updated boat shoes from Tretorn.

I was introduced to Tretorn shoes by Gary from Uniform at 511 Tremont St Boston MA 02116. I find the line to be an absolute smart buy: price, quality, and style are just right. They also fall under the category of Effortless Stylish Casual. Tretorn – The modern outdoor brand is a Swedish company owned by PUMA.
